Arrgh...another ski weekend denied by the weather
I had a few awesome ski trips lined up for this weekend:
1. A day of halfpipe riding at Summit Central
2. A long tour around Chair Peak
Both days were washed out by typical NW spring weather. I spend Saturday morning riding in the rain at Alpental after 3 runs at Central. The Central park crew has given up on the halfpipe for the season so it has rutted and melted into a non-usable state.
On Sunday the weather did not clear and the Chair Peak ski trip was cancelled. Instead of packing ski clothes I dusted off the kayak gear and made my first run of the spring season. I hit the Middle Middle @1,400 - a good tune up after a few months out of the water. Not all was lost, oh yeah, I also climbed at Stone Gardens for 3 hours on Saturday afternoon.
